New Commercial and Warehousing Project Takes Shape in Rotherham

The Pegler Yorkshire Group has announced the completion of the first phase of its office and warehousing complex in the South Yorkshire area. The company, which specializes in the manufacture of taps, valves and fittings, is planning to house its distribution centre in the complex at an approximate cost of ₤7 million. It has repeatedly stated that the site demonstrates its commitment to the area and its local economy.

The project, which is presently under development, is in the Dearne Valley near Brookfields Park in Rotherham, and has over 104,000 square feet of space for Pegler’s new offices and distribution centre. Other companies that have pre-let desk space in the complex, managed by Lambert Smith Hampton and Knight Fran, include Maplin Electronics, Garnett Dickinson and Next Plc.

Pegler’s centre is likely to come up as soon as the structural steel framework for the complex is complete, and will lead to the consolidation of its other warehouses located in Barnsley and Doncaster by the beginning of 2010. The entire site is expected to be ready by February 2010, with the machinery in place latest by November this year.

Ian Howarth, financial director for the company, said that the new facility demonstrates Pegler’s commitment to the South Yorkshire area. He added that the commitment would be visible to all once the framework of the new office building and warehouse facility is complete, letting people see the building complex come to life with each passing day.
