Man and Vans works closely with the Carbon Trust in an effort to significantly decrease its carbon emissions. The Carbon Trust has its sights set on a future built on renewable energy sources. The Government has recently added its name to the 2020 vision for renewable energy. The question that stands is how realistic and possible is it to expect this major renewables dash to be delivered in just over a decade? The target for 2020 is fifteen per cent renewable energy. This will mean significant cuts in our carbon emissions. The Uk is in the ideal position for accelerating and moving forward this development of renewables as it has Europe’s largest wave, tidal, and wind resources, and in addition has extensive engineering expertise. This is all good news for a brighter, cleaner future. Delivering on this fifteen per cent target, though it will cut carbon emissions, will have other desired effects as well. These include increased energy security, and major opportunities for economic development for UK-based companies. These are all very exciting prospects, and highlight active ways of changing the world’s pitiful state so that we can preserve it for as long as possible, and make it a better place to live for generations to come.
