1. Establish a bluffing image. Bluff a few times and get caught on purpose. When people see that you’ll play garbage, they’ll be more likely to play against you when you raise.

2. Know your players. Being aware of your opponent’s tendencies will help you to manipulate them into staying in the pot with you. If you’re trying to lure an aggressive player in the game, check to him or place a bet to entice him into playing. If you’re trying to get a tentative player into the pot, play weaker. Make them think that you’ve got rags, but you don’t want to fold. Check, and try to get them to try and scare you out with a raise.
